Coffee catchup by Ruth is an initiative that uses the love of coffee to combat loneliness and bring people together by hosting gatherings of elderly, single mothers and young members of the community and encouraging them to connect, share stories and form relationships. It does this by celebrating East African coffee culture and ritual as a social centre piece to bring the community together and foster a sense of belonging.
